A robbery investigation turned into a tense scene in North Hollywood on Friday morning when a suspect fleeing Los Angeles police ran through residential yards and into an occupied home. MONROVIA, Calif. — A routine meal at Panda Express turned into an unexpected arrest for Monrovia police officers after a man they had been trying to apprehend walked into the restaurant Wednesday night. Officers had previously attempted to take the man into custody twice in connection with a parole violation. A Miami nail salon was left with significant damage Friday after a car crashed through its front entrance while employees and customers were inside. No injuries were reported. The crash happened at about 3:45 p.m. at VN Nails near Coral Way and Southwest 27th Avenue, according to news. New Jersey restaurants and bars will be able to continue selling cocktails to-go permanently after Gov. Mikie Sherrill signed legislation Friday making the pandemic-era policy part of state law. The new law, signed Aug. 28, allows eligible businesses to sell alcoholic beverages for consumption away from their licensed premises. The change makes permanent a temporary measure introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic that had been scheduled to expire Sept. 1. A Philadelphia police officer has been placed on administrative duty after investigators said the officer left a 48-year-old man lying in the roadway shortly before the man was struck and killed by a vehicle in an apparent hit-and-run. Two people were arrested after a vehicle struck a Conroe Independent School District school bus Wednesday afternoon and the occupants fled the scene, according to school and law enforcement officials. The crash happened near Knob Hollow and Jonquil Pathway in the Gleneagle subdivision while a Campbell Elementary school bus was carrying 16 students.
