Christian Castro, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent accused of making false statements about a January shooting in north Minneapolis, has been booked into the Hennepin County Jail as he faces both state and federal criminal proceedings. Two young children remain in medically induced comas after a deadly Deerfield Beach crash that claimed the life of their 4-year-old cousin and an 18-year-old motorcyclist. The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, in the 4100 block of West Hillsboro Boulevard, according to investigators with the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. A Dothan, Alabama, woman accused of abandoning her newborn son in a trash compactor will spend the rest of her life in prison after reaching a last-minute plea agreement with prosecutors. A 33-year-old Kingsport woman was arrested after Sullivan County deputies found her four children alone at a home on Bancroft Chapel Road, according to authorities. Deputies were called to the residence shortly before 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 13. A 65-year-old Palm Desert woman is facing a murder charge after her husband was found fatally injured inside their condominium community earlier this month, in a case that follows a series of domestic-violence proceedings involving the couple. Vicky Kyung Mi Kim was arrested after Riverside County sheriff’s deputies responded to The Enclave, a gated condominium community on Gateway Drive in Palm Desert, on the morning of September 4. An 18-month-old Utah girl spent much of the final days of her life confined to her crib, with investigators later finding that she had received very limited care before her death. Now, more than a year after Ruby Marie Murray died, her parents have been sentenced to prison. Carrie Marie Murray and Mitchell Chesnut Murray, both 32, were each sentenced to one to 15 years in prison for child abuse homicide and aggravated child abuse.
