Two people were killed and several others injured Friday afternoon after a serious multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Victoria and Doris avenues in Oxnard. Emergency crews were called to the area shortly before 4 p.m. on September 25, where a major collision had involved multiple vehicles. Ventura County Fire Department records show a heavy traffic collision was reported at the intersection around 3:55 p.m. Fire officials said seven patients were involved in the crash. A woman was kidnapped at gunpoint after leaving a business in Roseville, Minnesota, on Wednesday evening, and police are now asking residents, motorists and business owners to help identify the person responsible. An Eastpointe police officer was injured early Friday after a man accused of stealing plants and landscaping equipment from English Gardens allegedly drove away from a traffic stop, with the trailer attached to his truck running over the officer’s legs. A Washington woman is facing a second-degree murder charge in the death of her teenage daughter’s newborn son, months after the baby was born at a Tacoma-area home. A Texas jury has sentenced Adrian Echevarria to life in prison after finding him guilty of killing 61-year-old Bami Elizabeth Carmane, a woman who had welcomed him into her life shortly after his release from prison.
