A coyote known and cared for by residents across Studio City has died after veterinarians found that a severe infection had caused extensive damage to her jaw and that two pellets were lodged in her head. The coyote, known locally as Wendy, had spent about a year roaming the community with a large swelling on the left side of her face. INDIANAPOLIS — A child died Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle in the driveway of a home on Indianapolis’ southwest side, police said. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers and medics were called to the 5300 block of West Southport Road shortly before 9:40 p.m. Sept. 8 after receiving a report that a pedestrian had been hit. A 10-year-old girl from South Georgia is preparing for a bone marrow transplant after her cancer returned just months after she completed treatment. Christiana Jones, of Thomasville, was first diagnosed with anaplastic large cell lymphoma on Dec. 21, 2024, when she was 8 years old. Her mother, Faylisha James, said the diagnosis changed life for the family almost overnight. Christiana underwent six rounds of chemotherapy, with hospital stays about every three weeks and regular clinic visits for lab work. A 37-year-old Wilton woman died and four other people were seriously injured after an SUV struck an Amish buggy from behind Friday afternoon on State Highway 131 in Monroe County, Wisconsin. The crash happened around 3:35 p.m. Sept. 4 on Highway 131 between County Highway A and Irondale Avenue in the Town of Tomah, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. A 2-year-old girl died after she was found unresponsive in an outdoor pool at a home in Scott County, Iowa, authorities said. Emergency crews were called to a home on Maysville Road shortly after 2:25 p.m. Sunday following a report of an unresponsive child. According to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, the girl had fallen into the pool and remained submerged for an undetermined amount of time. Four members of a Florida family were found dead Tuesday after their small plane disappeared while flying from the Bahamas to South Florida, according to a family member. The victims were identified as 80-year-old Mario Lamar, his wife, 79-year-old Lili Lamar, and their grandchildren, 28-year-old Sofi Sosa and 22-year-old Christian Sosa.
