A North Adams man has been charged after a pickup truck lost control on Marshall Street and crashed into two businesses late Thursday night, leaving both storefronts closed while repairs are assessed. A black Chevrolet Silverado crashed into Brewsters and Tres Ninos Taqueria at about 9:57 p.m. on August 27, according to information released after the crash. MOFFAT, Texas — A 35-year-old woman is facing three felony charges after authorities say an elderly couple was attacked inside their Moffat home and a mattress was later set on fire during the Aug. 24 incident. A 16-year-old Valley High School student has died nearly a week after she was shot while waiting near a Jefferson County Public Schools bus stop in Louisville. Dannady Greene was shot on the morning of Aug. 25 near Beech Street and Wyandotte Avenue in the Park DuValle neighborhood. She was taken to UofL Hospital in critical condition and died at 5:37 a.m. Monday, Aug. 31, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office. Her death has been ruled a homicide. A Humboldt, Tennessee, mother is facing first-degree murder and firearm charges after police say her 2-year-old daughter was fatally shot last week. Ephreana Brady was taken into custody after officers responded Aug. 27 to a home on Campbell Street following a report of an unresponsive child who was bleeding. When officers arrived, they found Brady on the front porch holding her daughter, who had suffered a gunshot wound. Police said Brady was also holding a handgun to her own head. Subway service on the A, B, C and D lines in Upper Manhattan returned Monday night after emergency crews spent much of the day repairing cracks discovered beneath the trackbed near Central Park. The issue was found during planned weekend track work near 81st Street and Central Park West. Family and friends gathered Monday evening in Woodridge to remember 18-year-old Kamarion L. Coleman, who was fatally shot over the weekend in Crest Hill. Dozens of people attended the vigil, where mourners released balloons in Coleman’s memory. Two teenagers who were also wounded in the shooting were among those who came to honor him. Coleman, a Woodridge resident, was killed after gunfire broke out late Saturday night near Crest Hill Memorial Park. A 75-year-old grandmother has died after being pulled from a pond in Acton, Massachusetts, while trying to rescue her young grandson, who also died following the incident.
