WARWICK, R.I. — A truck rollover caused significant traffic delays on Interstate 95 southbound in Warwick Monday morning, with multiple lanes blocked near the T.F. Green Airport exit.
The Rhode Island Department of Transportation reported at 10:47 a.m. that the crash had blocked the right-center lane, right lane and right shoulder on I-95 South at Exit 29, which serves Rhode Island Route 1 and T.F. Green Airport.
The lane restrictions backed up traffic in the area for several hours as crews worked at the scene.
RIDOT later reported that the crash and truck rollover had been cleared from the travel lanes. The agency’s traffic information confirms the incident involved a truck rollover on I-95 South at Exit 29 in Warwick.
Exit 29 provides access to Route 1 and Rhode Island T.F. Green Airport, making the area an important route for airport traffic as well as drivers traveling through Warwick. RIDOT’s official exit information identifies Exit 29 as the T.F. Green Airport interchange.
No information was immediately available on what caused the truck to overturn, and authorities had not released details about any injuries connected to the crash.
