An Ojai pastor and massage therapist has been charged with six felony counts of child molestation after authorities accused him of abusing two children under the age of 14 over several years.

David Johnson, 58, was charged with four counts of lewd acts upon a child and two counts of continuous sexual abuse, according to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office. Prosecutors also filed special allegations involving substantial sexual conduct and the victims’ ages.

Authorities said the alleged abuse took place over several years at locations in Ojai and Oxnard. Johnson allegedly had access to the children through a familial relationship.

Johnson worked as both a pastor and a massage therapist, according to prosecutors.

He was arraigned in Ventura County Superior Court and pleaded not guilty to all charges. He remains in custody without bail, and a bail review hearing is scheduled for Aug. 28.

Investigators are also looking into the possibility of additional victims. Authorities are asking anyone who may have information about Johnson or other possible unreported crimes involving him to contact Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Detective Michael Loth at 805-384-4745.

The charges follow an investigation by authorities in Ventura County. The allegations have not been proven in court, and Johnson is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office announced the charges on Aug. 26, 2026.
