LONG BEACH, Calif. — Police are investigating the death of a 33-year-old Long Beach man after he was found with suspicious injuries Thursday morning in the 6500 block of Muriel Avenue.
Long Beach Police Department officers were called to the area at about 8:27 a.m. on September 3 after receiving a report of a deceased person. When officers arrived, they found a male victim who had suffered suspicious injuries, and investigators said there were indications of foul play.
The man was identified as Kenneth Shannon, a 33-year-old Long Beach resident.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene and are treating the death as a murder investigation. Police said the suspect or suspects had left the area before officers arrived.
Investigators have not released information identifying a suspect or explained what may have led to Shannon’s death. The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
