A dispute that began after two men crashed into each other while riding electric scooters ended with one man dead Sunday afternoon in northwest Miami-Dade, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.
The shooting happened shortly before 5:25 p.m. near Northwest 75th Street and Northwest 22nd Court in the Gladeview area.
Sheriff’s officials said the two men were riding electric scooters when they crashed at the intersection. The collision led to an argument, and the situation escalated when one of the men pulled out a gun and shot the other, authorities said.
The shooter then got back on his electric scooter and fled the area, according to investigators.
Miami-Dade deputies and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews responded to the scene and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities had not released the victim’s identity as of the latest information available, and the suspect had not been identified.
The investigation remains ongoing as detectives work to determine exactly what led to the confrontation and locate the person responsible for the shooting.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office has not released additional details about the suspect or announced an arrest in connection with the case.
