A mostly sunny start to the week is expected across Berks County and the Lehigh Valley, with a few isolated showers possible and stronger winds developing as a front moves through the region.

Monday is shaping up to be a bright and relatively comfortable day across Berks County and the Lehigh Valley, with mostly sunny skies, low humidity and west winds increasing through the day.

The National Weather Service forecast calls for isolated showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon, with only a 20% chance of precipitation in both Berks County and the Lehigh Valley. Temperatures are expected to reach the mid to upper 70s.

For much of the region, the main feature Monday will be the breeze rather than widespread rain. West winds are forecast around 5 to 10 mph, with some locations potentially seeing gusts near 20 mph.

    Mostly sunny weather continues Tuesday

The pleasant pattern is expected to continue into Tuesday. Berks County is forecast to remain sunny with highs in the upper 70s, while the Lehigh Valley should see mostly sunny skies and temperatures around the upper 70s. A slight chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm remains possible in the Lehigh Valley.

By Wednesday, temperatures should climb into the lower 80s. The National Weather Service is also showing increasing chances for showers and thunderstorms late Wednesday into Thursday.

    Wetter weather returns Thursday

The biggest change in the forecast arrives Thursday, when the region could see a much higher chance of rain.

The latest National Weather Service forecast puts the chance of precipitation at about 70% for both Berks County and the Lehigh Valley. Showers are expected to become more likely during the afternoon, with thunderstorms also possible. High temperatures should reach the lower 80s.

For now, Monday and Tuesday offer a relatively dry and comfortable start to the work week, while residents should keep an eye on the forecast as humidity and shower chances increase toward Thursday.
