Eight people were rescued after a fire broke out Friday afternoon at an assisted living facility in Glendale, prompting firefighters and nearby residents to rush to help those inside.
The fire was reported around 4:45 p.m. at Mountain Villa on the 1800 block of West Mountain Street, near Brand Park. Flames and thick smoke could be seen rising from the building as firefighters arrived.
