A woman was hospitalized early Sunday morning after being found with multiple stab wounds in a Deerfield Beach neighborhood, and a female suspect was later taken into custody, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies and fire rescue personnel responded to the area of Northwest Third Avenue, also known as Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, and Fourth Court at about 3:45 a.m. Sunday. They found the injured woman at the scene and she was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The woman suffered stab wounds that were considered non-life-threatening, according to information released by authorities. Her identity has not been publicly released.
The investigation moved forward later that morning when BSO deputies took an adult female suspect into custody shortly after 10 a.m. Authorities had not released the suspect’s identity at the time of the latest reports.
Details about what led to the stabbing, the relationship between the two women, and what charges the suspect may face had not been released.
Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
