A woman was kidnapped at gunpoint after leaving a business in Roseville, Minnesota, on Wednesday evening, and police are now asking residents, motorists and business owners to help identify the person responsible.
The incident happened around 5 p.m. on September 23 near the intersection of County Road C and East Snelling Service Drive. According to police, the woman was approached by an unknown masked man carrying a firearm as she was leaving a business.
Investigators say the woman was held captive for several hours before being released on the east side of St. Paul. She was later taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police have not released details about the injuries she sustained.
The Roseville Police Department is working with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension as detectives investigate what happened and work to identify the suspect. Additional investigative resources and patrol officers have been assigned to the area while the investigation remains active.
Police have not identified the business involved or released additional details about the circumstances of the kidnapping. They also have not said whether the victim and suspect knew each other.
Investigators are particularly interested in anything that may have been captured between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m. Wednesday. Residents, businesses and motorists near County Road C and East Snelling Service Drive are being asked to review security-camera, doorbell-camera or dash-camera footage from that period for anything unusual.

Police have increased patrols in the area as the investigation continues. Officers are also encouraging people to remain aware of their surroundings and to move toward well-lit, populated areas if they encounter a situation that feels unsafe.
The investigation is ongoing, and police said additional information will be released when appropriate.
