A woman was found dead in the Delaware River in South Philadelphia on Monday morning, Sept. 7, as police investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.
Philadelphia police said the woman’s body was recovered around 9:30 a.m. near the 1600 block of South Christopher Columbus Boulevard. She was pronounced dead at the scene about 20 minutes later, at 9:50 a.m.
Authorities have not publicly identified the woman. Police also have not disclosed how she entered the river or what may have led to her death.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional details may be released as detectives work to determine what happened.
