An 86-year-old woman is missing in Los Angeles, and police are asking the public for help locating her.
Ana Marlina Martinez was last seen around 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, at her caregiver’s home in the 1800 block of Wilton Place, in the Arlington Heights area of Los Angeles. Police said a Silver Alert was issued as authorities worked to locate her.
Martinez is described as 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing about 125 pounds. She has white hair and dark eyes and was last seen wearing a blue floral dress.
Her family has said Martinez has dementia, raising concerns about her safety and ability to find her way home. It was not immediately clear where she may have been headed when she disappeared.
Police are urging anyone who may have seen Martinez or has information about her whereabouts to contact authorities. Anyone who spots her should call 911 or the LAPD Olympic Station watch commander at 213-382-9182.
A Silver Alert is used in California to help locate missing older adults or people with cognitive impairments who may be at risk. The alert is intended to bring additional public attention to cases where a missing person may need urgent assistance.
The search remains active, and relatives are asking anyone in the area to remain alert for Martinez and report any possible sighting to police.
