A 44-year-old Pittsburgh man was arrested after two University of Pittsburgh students separately reported that he touched them inappropriately in the area around Schenley Plaza, according to police and court records.
Police said the first student reported that she was grabbed on the buttocks near Forbes Avenue and South Bouquet Street at about 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Officers began looking for a man matching her description and arrested him roughly 15 minutes later near Schenley Plaza.
The suspect was identified as Alphonso Everett III, 44, of Pittsburgh. During the arrest, another woman approached officers and reported that the same man had also touched her on the buttocks.
According to the criminal complaint, Everett had approached the first woman from behind in Schenley Plaza. When she tried to leave the area, she entered a tented section, with Everett following closely behind. Police allege that he then grabbed her buttocks inside the tented area.
Officers later located Everett near The Porch restaurant and took him into custody.
Everett is facing two counts of indecent assault in connection with the reported incidents. He was taken to the Allegheny County Jail following his arrest.
Court records also show that Everett has faced indecent assault charges on five previous occasions, dating to June 2016, August 2017, June 2022, April 2026 and May 2026. Those prior charges are separate from the allegations that led to his latest arrest.
The latest allegations involve two women and remain accusations at this stage. An arrest or criminal charge does not establish guilt, and the case will proceed through the court system.
