A three-vehicle collision on the southbound 110 Freeway in Los Angeles left one person dead and sent four others to hospitals Monday night, causing significant traffic delays near the 105 Freeway.
The crash was reported shortly after 8 p.m. in the Broadway-Manchester area, just north of the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway. Emergency crews responded to the scene as authorities worked to manage traffic and investigate what led to the collision.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Four other people were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment of injuries. Their current conditions were not immediately available.
A witness reported seeing a white sedan overturn several times during the crash. The circumstances that led to the collision remained under investigation.
A SigAlert was issued shortly after the crash, with all southbound lanes north of the 105 Freeway temporarily closed. The Express Lanes were reopened later in the evening, but several regular southbound lanes remained closed as crews continued working at the scene.
Drivers traveling through the area were advised to expect delays while emergency personnel and investigators remained on the freeway.
The cause of the crash had not been released as authorities continued their investigation.
