A man who was shot multiple times Sunday night in Pittsburgh’s Homewood North neighborhood is expected to survive, according to police.
The shooting was reported around 9 p.m. near the intersection of Frankstown Avenue and Sterrett Street. Investigators found a large number of evidence markers in the area as they worked to determine what led to the gunfire.
Police said two separate ShotSpotter alerts were recorded during the incident, indicating a combined 31 rounds of gunfire.
As officers responded to the area, they located the wounded man several blocks away in the 7300 block of Race Street. He had suffered gunshot wounds to his arms and legs, with police initially reporting four separate wounds.
The man was conscious and alert when he was taken to a hospital. He was able to speak with investigators but did not provide much information about the shooting, police said. He was later listed in stable condition.
Detectives are now working to piece together what happened, including reviewing surveillance footage and other evidence collected from the scene.
No suspect has been publicly identified in connection with the shooting, and police have not announced any arrests. The investigation remains ongoing.
Anyone with information that could help investigators determine who was responsible is encouraged to contact Pittsburgh police.
