A man is in critical condition after being shot Saturday afternoon on Interstate 94 in Minneapolis, with police continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Minneapolis police responded shortly after 4:30 p.m. Saturday to a report of a shooting near the I-94 and I-35W interchange. Officers later determined that the shooting occurred on eastbound I-94 between Portland Avenue and Chicago Avenue.
The victim was found on northbound I-35W near 11th Avenue with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment and remained in critical condition.
Police said the shooting occurred inside a vehicle. Investigators also obtained video of the incident as they work to determine what led to the shooting.
The suspect reportedly left the area in another vehicle, traveling eastbound on I-94. No arrest had been announced as of the latest update.
The investigation remains active, and police have not released additional details about the circumstances leading up to the shooting or identified a suspect.
