A 41-year-old Johnston man is facing DUI and chemical-test refusal charges after a Sunday evening crash involving a motorcycle and an Acura on Central Avenue, according to Johnston police.
Officers responded around 6:30 p.m. to the area of 436 Central Avenue after receiving a report of the collision. Police said a Honda motorcycle traveling east collided with an Acura TLX traveling west.
The motorcyclist was taken to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment. Police did not release additional information about the motorcyclist’s condition.
The driver of the Acura was identified as Richard Petisce, 41, of Johnston. Officers charged him with driving under the influence and refusing to submit to a chemical test, according to police.
Petisce is expected to appear in Third Division District Court on September 4 for arraignment.
The crash remains the subject of the police response and investigation. No additional details about what led to the collision were released in the latest report.
