A fire at a furniture store in Jarrettsville brought multiple fire companies to the scene Sunday evening, with crews working to contain the blaze and keep the situation from spreading.
The fire was reported at Jarrettsville Furniture on Federal Hill Road, also known as Maryland Route 165. Firefighters carried out interior fire attack and ventilation operations as they worked to control the structure fire. The store is located at 3743 Federal Hill Road in Jarrettsville.
The emergency response also affected traffic in the area. MD-165 was closed while firefighters worked at the scene, and drivers were advised to avoid the area during the response.
No injuries to firefighters or civilians were reported.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the circumstances surrounding the blaze and assessing the extent of the damage.
