Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives have shut down part of a residential street in Pompano Beach while they investigate the death of a bicyclist.
Pompano Beach Fire Rescue and BSO deputies responded around 5:30 a.m. Sunday to the intersection of Northwest Sixth Avenue and 17th Street, near the 600 block of Northwest 17th Street. Crime scene tape now surrounds the area as detectives comb the scene for evidence.
Footage from the location showed a bicycle lying on its side along the roadway, with several personal belongings scattered nearby — details that point to the moments before the fatal incident.
Officials have not yet released the identity of the victim, nor have they confirmed exactly how the person died. The investigation remains active, and deputies have not said how long the road closure will last.
Detectives are asking anyone with information about this case, or any other unsolved case, to contact Broward County Crime Stoppers anonymously at 954-493-8477.
