EL PASO, Texas — El Paso police are investigating the death of a man in his 50s who was found inside an Upper Valley home Monday morning with what appeared to be a gunshot wound.

Officers were called around 9:40 a.m. Sept. 7 to the 4900 block of Vista Grande Circle, near Country Club Drive, after receiving a report that prompted a response to the residence.

When officers arrived, they found the man dead inside the home. Police said he appeared to have been shot and described the circumstances surrounding his death as suspicious.

Investigators have not publicly identified the man or released additional details about what may have led to the shooting.

Police said the incident appears to be isolated and there was no indication that the public was facing a broader threat. No arrests had been announced as of the latest update.

The area around the home was expected to remain closed for several more hours while investigators worked at the scene. Residents were still being allowed access to their homes, according to police.

The investigation remains active as detectives work to determine what happened and how the man died.

Anyone with information that could assist investigators is asked to contact the El Paso Police Department’s non-emergency line at 915-832-4400. Anonymous tips can be provided to Crime Stoppers of El Paso at 915-566-8477.
