DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a young boy who was found alone Monday afternoon in DeKalb County.
The boy is believed to be about 8 years old and appears to be nonverbal, according to police.
Officers were called around 4:30 p.m. after the child was found at a gas station in the 1400 block of Bouldercrest Road. Authorities are now working to determine who the boy is and locate his parents or guardians.
Emergency medical personnel examined the child and found no injuries. He was then taken for care while police continued efforts to locate his family.
Police have not publicly said how the boy came to be at the gas station or how long he had been alone before he was found.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to reunite the child with his family.
