A man was killed after being struck by a train Monday night near the South Sacramento area, prompting an investigation and temporary road closures along Calvine Road.
Emergency crews were called to the railroad crossing near Calvine Road and Ardith Drive at about 8:42 p.m. after reports that a train had hit a pedestrian. The location is near the border of Sacramento and Elk Grove.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released his identity.
