A 49-year-old Galloway Township man died Monday night after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck on Route 50 in Weymouth Township, according to New Jersey State Police.
Roland Marsh was riding south on Route 50 when a Chevrolet pickup traveling north attempted to turn left into the parking lot of Belco Liquors. The motorcycle and pickup then collided, according to information provided by State Police.
Marsh was thrown from the motorcycle in the crash and suffered fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead following the collision.
No other injuries were reported, and the driver of the pickup has not been publicly identified.
The crash happened Monday evening and remains under investigation. State Police said no additional information was immediately available.
Marsh was a Mays Landing native and had grown up in the area. He graduated from Oakcrest High School in 1994 and worked as a landscaper, according to local reporting.
Route 50 runs through Weymouth Township and connects communities in Atlantic County, making the highway an important local travel route.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing. Authorities have not released additional details about whether any summonses or charges are expected.
