MARSHFIELD, Wis. — A 47-year-old Marshfield man was taken into protective custody Tuesday morning after police responded to a report that he was trying to enter a local daycare, authorities said.
The Marshfield Police Department was called at about 8:10 a.m. Aug. 25 to the daycare in the 800 block of North Peach Avenue. Officers located the man and determined that he was experiencing a mental health crisis.
Police took him into protective custody and transported him to a local hospital for care.
Authorities said the man has no connection to the daycare facility. Police also said there was no ongoing threat to the public following the incident.
A local report citing police information additionally said officers worked with crisis intervention specialists during the response.
The incident remained a police response involving a person in crisis, rather than an ongoing threat at the daycare, according to authorities.
