Two women were hospitalized after a shooting at a Canoga Park apartment Sunday morning, with police investigating whether the incident may have stemmed from domestic violence.
The shooting was reported around 8:30 a.m. in the 21900 block of Roscoe Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
When officers arrived, they found two women suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were taken to a nearby hospital in grave condition, police said. Their identities had not been released as of Sunday evening.
A person of interest was detained in connection with the shooting. Police had not announced an arrest as of Sunday night.
Investigators were still working to determine exactly what led to the shooting. Authorities have not released additional details about the relationship between the victims and the person detained or confirmed a motive beyond the possibility that the incident was related to domestic violence.
The investigation remains ongoing.
