A motorcyclist was seriously injured Sunday after veering off Kanan Road near Agoura Hills and crashing down an embankment, according to Los Angeles County firefighters.
The crash was reported around 4 p.m. near the 3000 block of Kanan Road at Silver Creek Road.
Firefighters who responded to the scene found the motorcyclist between about 50 and 80 feet below the roadway. The rider, whose identity was not released, suffered severe injuries in the crash.
Rescue crews treated the victim at the scene while waiting for an emergency helicopter. The motorcyclist was then airlifted to a hospital for further medical care.
The California Highway Patrol also confirmed that a motorcyclist was hospitalized following the crash in the Kanan and Silver Creek roads area, according to same-day reporting.
Authorities have not said what caused the motorcycle to leave the roadway. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
