CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — A 14-year-old boy was airlifted to a Morgantown hospital Monday afternoon after crashing an E-bike at a downtown Clarksburg parking garage and falling onto the roof of a nearby building.
The crash happened at the Clarksburg parking garage between Hewes Avenue and U.S. Route 50. Clarksburg Police Chief Mark Kiddy told 5 News that the boy was riding an E-bike inside the garage when he crashed and went over the side.
Police said the boy fell about 44 feet before landing on the roof of an adjacent building.
Harrison-Taylor 911 records show emergency crews were called to the scene at approximately 5:02 p.m. Monday. The boy was removed from the rooftop and flown to J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown for further treatment, according to local officials.
The Clarksburg Police Department, Clarksburg Fire Department and Harrison County EMS responded to the incident.
As of the latest available information, officials have not released details about the boy’s condition or the extent of his injuries. Clarksburg Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fall.
