Irving police are asking for the public’s help after an alleged attempted kidnapping involving a 22-year-old at Shady Grove Trail Park.
The incident was reported Monday evening at about 8:20 p.m. in the northeast section of the park near W. Vilbig Street, according to police. Investigators said a man allegedly tried to kidnap the 22-year-old, although authorities have not released additional information about the victim.
Police are now working to identify the man involved. Investigators said the suspect was later captured on surveillance video running away from the area.
Authorities described the suspect as a white man believed to be in his mid-to-late 20s. He is approximately 5 feet, 5 inches tall with a medium-to-heavy build. Police said he has medium-length, black, wavy hair and a short, unkempt beard.
The investigation remains active, and police have not announced an arrest or identified a motive in the case.
