Three people have been arrested in connection with an armed home invasion in Ludlow that left a man with a significant head injury, police said.
Officers were called to a home on Williams Street at about 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, after receiving a report of an armed home invasion.
Investigators said two men forced their way into the residence. During the incident, one suspect allegedly struck a resident with a handgun, while the second suspect allegedly punched another resident.
The suspects then left the area in a vehicle.
Police obtained descriptions of the men and the vehicle believed to have been involved. Investigators later used Flock Safety camera information to help identify a possible suspect vehicle.
Chicopee police stopped the vehicle, and officers found a firearm along with other items that investigators believe were connected to the Ludlow home invasion, according to police.
Three people were taken into custody during the traffic stop and later turned over to Ludlow police. They were identified as 25-year-old Ajaia Gladden of Three Rivers, 30-year-old Jaila Warren of Chicopee and 26-year-old Shamal Thomas of Springfield.
All three are facing charges including armed home invasion, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, armed assault in a dwelling and breaking and entering in the daytime while armed.
Additional firearm-related charges include carrying a loaded firearm without a license, possession of a large-capacity feeding device and leaving a firearm in a vehicle.
Police have not publicly identified which two of the three defendants are accused of entering the Williams Street home.
The three defendants were arraigned Friday in Springfield District Court. No attorney information was immediately available in the latest reports.
The investigation remains ongoing. The charges are allegations, and all three defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
