A Baltimore County family is asking for the public’s help as the search continues for 61-year-old Michele Thompson, who has been missing from the Gwynn Oak area since Sunday, Sept. 7.

Thompson was last seen around 6:40 p.m. in the Gwynn Oak area, according to information released after a Silver Alert was issued. She is described as 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing about 145 pounds. She was last seen wearing a white hat, a colorful shirt and oversized jeans.

Thompson’s daughter, Olivia, said her mother left their home after becoming frustrated and saying she wanted to go for a walk. The family has been searching alongside police and community members and has distributed flyers throughout surrounding areas.

Olivia told WJZ that her mother has Alzheimer’s disease and had been without a tracking pendant when she left home. She said Thompson may have been seen in the area since she disappeared, but she has not returned home or made contact with her family.

The family believes Thompson could be somewhere in the area between Liberty Heights, Baltimore National Pike and Gwynn Oak. Relatives and community members have continued looking in those areas as concerns grow over the length of time she has been missing.

Her family is also worried because Thompson has now missed several days of medication.

Olivia said her mother enjoys talking and offered advice to anyone who may encounter her. Because Thompson sometimes becomes confused and may think about earlier periods of her daughter’s life, Olivia said mentioning that she needs to take Olivia to school could help get her attention.

If someone believes they have seen Thompson, her family asks them to remain calm, continue talking with her and contact police rather than attempting to handle the situation alone.

Baltimore County Police have issued a Silver Alert for Thompson. Anyone who sees her or has information that could help investigators locate her is asked to call 911 or 443-228-3106.

As of the latest available information, Thompson remains missing and the search is continuing.
