One person died and another was injured after a boating accident Sunday afternoon at Union Valley Reservoir in El Dorado County, according to authorities.
The accident was reported at about 2:30 p.m. Three adults were aboard the boat when the incident occurred, according to the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office.
One of the people on board suffered a head injury. Another person died as a result of the accident, while the third person was not injured.
Authorities have not released the identity of the person who died. No further information about the victim was immediately available.
The circumstances surrounding the accident remain under investigation by the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office. Officials have not announced what caused the boat to become involved in the incident.
