Two Lawrence police cruisers were involved in a crash with a civilian vehicle Sunday morning while officers were responding to a call for assistance, according to police.
The crash happened around 11:25 a.m. The civilian vehicle was stopped in its lane at a traffic signal when the collision occurred.
The two police cruisers were responding to assist another officer at the time of the crash. All people involved in the collision suffered minor injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals for evaluation and treatment.
Police said the circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation. An internal investigation will also examine what led to the collision.
