Two men are being sought by Atlanta police after they allegedly broke into a gaming machine at a southwest Atlanta gas station and threatened an employee with a hammer when he tried to intervene.

The incident happened around 8:30 a.m. Sunday at an Exxon station in the 1100 block of Metropolitan Parkway SW, according to police.

Investigators said the two men entered the business and targeted a gaming machine for cash. When an employee attempted to stop them, one of the men allegedly displayed a hammer and threatened him. The employee backed away, and the suspects left the scene.

Police have released surveillance images as they work to identify the two men. The investigation remains active, and authorities have not publicly identified any suspects or announced any arrests in connection with the robbery.

Atlanta police are asking anyone who may recognize the men or have information about the robbery to contact Crime Stoppers Atlanta. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling 404-577-TIPS (8477), and information leading to an arrest and indictment may qualify for a reward of up to $5,000.

The case is being investigated as a commercial robbery, and detectives are continuing to work to determine the identities of the two people shown in the surveillance footage.
