Two men were injured in separate shootings in North Philadelphia on Sunday evening, with one victim hospitalized in critical condition and the other listed as stable, according to police.
The first shooting was reported shortly before 7 p.m. on the 2600 block of Ridge Drive. Police said a 40-year-old man was struck in the chest.
The man was taken to Temple University Hospital for treatment and was in critical condition, police said.
About the same time, officers were called to the 4500 block of North 18th Street, where a second shooting was reported at 7:09 p.m.
Police found a 22-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to his right forearm. He was transported to Einstein Medical Center and was listed in stable condition.
The two shootings occurred within minutes of each other, but police have not indicated that the incidents are connected.
No arrests had been reported in either case as of the latest police information available. Investigators have not publicly identified a suspect or released a possible motive for either shooting.
The investigations remain ongoing as detectives work to determine what led to the separate incidents.
