A man in his 70s was taken to a hospital Sunday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle in North Hills, and police are investigating the crash as a hit-and-run.
The collision happened around 2:30 p.m. near Burnet Avenue and Parthenia Street, where officers found the pedestrian lying in the roadway. Emergency responders took him to a nearby hospital for treatment. His condition was not immediately known.
Police said the driver did not remain at the scene after the crash. Witnesses described the vehicle involved as a white sedan, giving investigators an initial description to work with as they try to determine who was behind the wheel.
