Two men were hospitalized after a shooting Tuesday night in Miami’s Overtown neighborhood, as police work to determine what led to the gunfire and how the two victims were involved.
Miami police responded to a ShotSpotter alert around 9:53 p.m. near Northwest 5th Avenue between 6th and 7th Street. Officers arriving at the area found two adult men with apparent gunshot wounds.
Miami Fire-Rescue crews also responded and took both men to the Jackson Memorial Hospital Trauma Center for treatment.
Police have not released the identities or ages of the two men, and their conditions have not been publicly detailed. Investigators also have not said whether the men knew each other or whether either was specifically targeted.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear. Authorities have not announced an arrest, identified a suspect or disclosed a possible motive.
