A 16-year-old Milwaukee teenager has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for the fatal shooting of his 30-year-old sister during a family confrontation in June 2025.

Hezile J. Frison pleaded guilty to first-degree reckless homicide in the death of Ashley Hudson. Milwaukee County Judge David Borowski handed down the sentence on Sept. 25. Frison will also serve 10 years of extended supervision after his prison term.

The shooting happened on June 16, 2025, near West Vliet Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Milwaukee. Frison was 15 at the time.

According to the criminal complaint, the confrontation began after Hudson’s sisters became angry over social media posts. The dispute escalated into a physical fight, with one of the women using a baseball bat against Hudson.

Witnesses who were not involved in the confrontation recorded parts of the incident on their phones. The recordings became important evidence in the investigation.

The complaint states that Hudson attempted to get away during the fight and at one point got into a parked vehicle. The women continued attacking her with the bat, according to investigators. Hudson eventually got out and held a knife while trying to keep the attackers away.

Frison then retrieved a handgun from his mother’s vehicle and confronted Hudson. Video reviewed by investigators showed Hudson backing away with her hands raised shortly before Frison fired the weapon at close range. Hudson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators also said Frison initially gave police a different account of what happened, claiming Hudson had moved toward him before he fired. Authorities later used video evidence and other information gathered during the investigation to reconstruct the confrontation.

The homicide case was initially filed as first-degree intentional homicide after Frison was charged as an adult. He later pleaded guilty to the amended first-degree reckless homicide charge in July 2026, bringing the case to a sentencing hearing rather than a trial.

At the sentencing hearing, Frison briefly addressed the court and expressed regret. He said he wanted to bring his sister back. Judge Borowski told him that was impossible and spoke at length about the decision to use a firearm during the family confrontation.

Hudson’s death also resulted in criminal cases involving other family members. Her sister, Aaliyah Frison, previously pleaded guilty to aggravated battery with a dangerous weapon. Her sentence of two years in prison and two years of extended supervision was stayed, and she received two years of probation.

Hudson’s mother, Tara T. Hudson, pleaded guilty to resisting or obstructing an officer. Her sentence included a stayed term of seven months and 12 months of probation.

The case is now moving forward with Frison’s 20-year prison sentence and 10 years of extended supervision. The conviction and sentence bring the court proceedings against him to a conclusion following his guilty plea.
