A motorcyclist was left critically injured after a hit-and-run crash Wednesday evening on Lawlor Street in New Britain, according to police.
Officers were called to the area of Lawlor Street at about 5:45 p.m. for a crash involving a motorcycle and another vehicle. When police arrived, they found the motorcyclist unresponsive in the roadway.
Emergency medical personnel treated the injured rider at the scene before the person was taken to the Hospital of Central Connecticut. The motorcyclist remained in critical condition as of Thursday, according to officials.
Investigators determined that the driver of the other vehicle left the area following the collision. Police have not publicly identified the vehicle or driver involved, and no arrest had been announced as of Thursday afternoon.
The New Britain Police Department’s Traffic Division is handling the investigation. Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information that could help identify the vehicle or driver to contact Capt. James Krolikowski at 860-826-3090.
