A Vernon man is facing aggravated domestic assault charges after deputies responded to a reported domestic incident on Forrett Drive earlier this month.
Deputies with the Windham County Sheriff’s Office went to a residence in Vernon on Sept. 12 following a report of domestic assault. The investigation led authorities to identify 43-year-old Timothy D. Forrett Jr. as the person accused in the case.
According to investigators, Forrett is accused of committing first-degree aggravated domestic assault involving a household or family member. Authorities also allege that he prevented the person from accessing emergency services.
Forrett was not taken into custody at the residence initially. Investigators said he left the location before later surrendering to deputies without incident.
He was taken to the Windham County Sheriff’s Office for processing and was subsequently lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility. Bail was set at $50,000.
The charges filed against Forrett are first-degree aggravated domestic assault and interference with access to emergency services.
The case remains before the Vermont court system. The current court calendar lists State v. Timothy Forrett under case number 26-CR-09837, with a Weight of the Evidence Hearing scheduled for Sept. 29 at 3 p.m.
The allegations are part of an ongoing criminal case, and the charges against Forrett have not been adjudicated in court.
