Police investigating possible earlier dispute
Investigators are looking into whether the shooting was connected to a fight or disagreement that happened earlier in the day. Police have not yet released details about what led to that earlier confrontation or explained how it may have escalated into the shooting.
Detectives are continuing to piece together what happened at the apartment complex and determine the circumstances surrounding the gunfire.
Police said the incident was not considered an active-shooter situation and that nearby residents were not believed to be in danger.
No suspects or arrests announced
As of the latest update, authorities have not publicly identified a suspect or announced any arrests in connection with the shooting.
Investigators also have not determined whether the two boys or the other victims were related.
The DeKalb County Police Department described the deaths as a devastating loss for the families and community and extended condolences to those affected.
The investigation remains active as detectives work to establish the sequence of events and determine who was responsible for the shooting. More information is expected as investigators continue their work.
