A Saturday morning crash at a Lavallette restaurant left one woman dead and seven other people injured after a 93-year-old driver trying to park accidentally accelerated into an outdoor dining area.

The crash happened around 11:12 a.m. Sept. 19 at Meg’s Grill on Grand Central Avenue, where the 2014 Buick Encore entered the restaurant’s outdoor seating area before striking the building, according to police.
