Seven Period Day/Activity
There have been a lot of changes at Waverly High School this year. One of the biggest changes is the number of class periods. For years we had eight periods. This year, the schedule is only seven periods and we have added an extra five minutes to class time and a thirty-minute activity period have been added.
This new schedule is meant to help students stay on track and not get behind. Along with a study hall, we also get an activity period. In your activity period, your teacher will check in on you and your progress once a week. This teacher will help you be a better student and make sure you are doing everything you can to keep up! For most of the people I spoke to, the days seem to go faster than before. You have five classes in the morning then activity and two more classes in the afternoon. By the time the day is over, it seems to have passed quickly. When the day feels longer, kids tend to be tired and do not want to work or learn. When the day feels faster we are more awake and still in that “learning mode”. In all this new schedule is an efficient way to make us better students and have fun doing it.
