Passing on a Legacy

Loren Moran

The Waverly Lady Tigers soccer team wrapped up their season last Saturday, October 24th. The Tigers suffered a tough loss to the Warren Warriors with a final score of 4-3 in overtime. The ladies are losing seven seniors this year: Zoiee Smith, Michaela Rhoads, Macey Gecowets, Amelia Willis, Loren Moran, Kylee Murphy, and Alexis Murphy. This very talented group has helped the Tigers achieve back-to-back SOC championships, a sectional title, and many wins against tough opponents. Many of these seniors have also met their own personal goals, with some being ranked in the state for these accomplishments. Needless to say, these girls have left a legacy behind that will not be forgotten for years to come.

Looking ahead, the seniors next year are hoping to continue the legacy. Lydia Brown, Kylie Smith, and Katie Walker will be great leaders in the coming season. They all have their own goals about how they want next season to go, but they all have one goal in common-win. With a common goal in mind I have no doubt that the Lady Tigers will be a force to be reckoned with, not only next year, but for many years to come.
