New Additions to the Library

Britton Kritzwiser

Recently, Mrs. Walls has acquired a new shipment of library books. In this new shipment she was able to get two of the most highly rated new releases, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins, and Midnight Sun by Stephanie Meyer. Both of these books have came long after their original series begun.

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins is a prequel story to the famed trilogy, The Hunger Games. It centers around a young Coriolanus Snow who fans would recognize as the future President Snow, the antagonist of the original series. He’s been given the humiliating assignment of mentoring the female tribute from District 12, the lowest of the low. Their fates are now completely intertwined. Every choice Coriolanus makes could lead to favor or failure, triumph or ruin.

Midnight Sun by Stephanie Meyer was published 15 years after its original series, Twilight. Midnight Sun recounts events from the perspective of Edward Cullen rather than the series’ usual protagonist, Bella Swan. We get to see the world of Twilight told through a whole new perspective.
