The Waverly Marching Tigers

Loren Moran

Despite not being able to go away for band camp this year, the Waverly Marching Tigers are still hard at work. So far they have played a 70s rock show, a 2010 pop show, and a Beatles show leaving just one show left to play for their home crowd. Normally, the Tigers would do way more than just four halftime shows, but COVID-19 has put a stop to all away game travel for both the band and the cheerleaders. With three halftime shows already under their belts, they are eager to share their senior show with the crowd. The show will consist of 4 songs, “Party in the USA”, “Happy Together”, “Your Song”, and “Long Train Running”. With exciting marching moves, and of course dancing, they are hoping for yet another crowd favorite.

Other than performing for their football team most Friday nights, the Waverly Marching Tigers are also taking on two band shows this year. Last Saturday, September 19th, they played at the Oak Hill Band Show. There, they earned a trophy to show for their hard work. This Saturday, September 26th, the marching band will participate in the Logan Band Show where other band directors will critique their show and give them feedback. This will hopefully help the Tigers as they go about the rest of their marching season.
