Get To Know Mrs. Prall

Brooke Dunham

“Be yourself, do what you want to do, set goals. When things don’t go as planned, don’t give up. Expect more out of yourself than you think possible.” This is the message that high school counselor Mrs. Prall wants us to know.

We all know who Mrs. Prall is, but do you know her? One thing you might not know about her is that Mrs. Prall was best friends with Mrs. Flanders in high school. That’s right! She has lived in Waverly her whole life. She says that the high school today has better facilities and social media has impacted a lot with how news spreads.

Mrs. Prall enjoys biking in her free time. She actually has biked one hundred miles in Pelotonia for the past two years. She also enjoys biking at Scioto Trails in her freetime. She is a 4-H leader and also leads a running club at the intermediate.

Mrs. Prall’s goals this year are to learn what high school counselors are responsible for and to create a safe space for students to talk. She says that high school counseling is focused more on helping students prepare for college.

The reason Mrs. Prall chose counseling is because she noticed that when she was teaching she would work with kids more emotionally and took an interest in helping them. Welcome to Waverly High School Mrs. Prall!
